Hotel Security Management
The HSM is a foundation that was originally founded as an association in 1990 by Security Managers of a number of Amsterdam hotels. The main goal of that time is still topical; the prevention of common crime in the affiliated hotels by systematically recognizing perpetrators, exchanging information, organizing meetings and / or offering training. Since 2007, the association has a close cooperation with the Koninklijke Horeca Nederland, the Amsterdam police and has already connected more than 100 hotels. In 2019, after the unanimous consent of the members, the association became a foundation with a Supervisory Board.
Hotels in the Netherlands can register and be connected after assessment of the HSM board. They will then have access to the digital warning system, among other things. After reporting this to the police, they can also report criminal offenses on the alert register and be warned if other hotels have experienced similar incidents. In this way it is prevented that perpetrators of criminal cases can strike in several hotels. Within the HSM, other safety-related topics are also shared in the context of corporate social responsibility, including prevention of human trafficking, loverboy practices or illegal prostitution.
